Coronavirus Bailouts

Corporations: We squandered our profits on stock buy backs, never built a rainy day fund, and now refuse to lower prices or provide a market response to the changing demands of society.

Government: No problem! Here’s a couple trillion dollars from the taxpayers!

The Public: Can’t you ask them to do anything for it? Provide sick leave, health care, sanitation, restrictions on the money, anything? Maybe exercise some power? At least as much oversight as an EBT card would be nice.

Government: Now now, that’d be market interference! We must give these piles of money away like fools. Help me put on these blindfolds and drop bags of unmarked bills at the most irresponsible corporations doorsteps and Don’t Ask Any Questions!
