There is a loneliness epidemic largely due to technology where the major players (YouTube, Facebook, etc.) hijack your attention and emotions. They do so by getting you to click by reflecting back your reality of the world — your view. The internet is a confirmation bias machine. The other way to get you to click is by showing what you don’t like.

Focus on others. Be of service to others. Be generous.

Successful investing is anticipating the anticipation of others. Once can attempt this by looking at differences of opinion about the future strongly expressed and find the one that is right.

An investment is a view of the future.

A trend is the spread or an expression of an idea.

Tends or an idea have the following:
innovator > early adopters > late majority > laggards
or
ridiculed > violently opposed > accepted as self-evident

follow a company’s corporate bond

Ranking of traders from “smartest” to least:
metal traders = far-sided thinking of the economy
bond traders
equity traders
energy (oil) traders
currency traders
economist
central bankers
